Illinois State men’s basketball evened its record at 2-2 with a wire-to-wire 81-67 win over Ferris State on Sunday at Redbird Arena. Phil Fayne scored a career-high 22 points and Deontae Hawkins helped with 21 points. ISU will battle IUPUI at Redbird Arena on Wednesday.
In other Missouri Valley Conference men’s action, Missouri State beat North Dakota State 64-50, but Indiana State lost to Quinnipiac 80-77 and Evansville fell to Middle Tennessee 66-55.
The Illinois Wesleyan women fell just short to Number 8 Washington University 87-86 in the Midwest Challenge title game at Shirk Center.
The Bears scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to come close, but they dropped the rally like they dropped passes all day in a 27-21 loss to the Tennessee Titans.
The Sunday night game went to the Kansas City Chiefs 30-27 over the Denver Broncos in overtime.
Tom Brady registered his 200th career win, tying him with Peyton Manning for the most in NFL history as the Patriots beat the Jets. Other NFL winners were the Falcons, Dolphins, Saints, Giants, Chargers, Ravens, Bills, Buccaneers, Raiders, Cowboys, Lions and Steelers.
The Packers visit the Eagles in the Monday night game.
The new Associated Press college football poll places Alabama at Number 1 and Ohio State at Number 2. The rest of the top five is Clemson, Washington and Michigan.
