Illinois rebounded from a tough Thanksgiving week with an 88-74 win over North Carolina State at State Farm Center as part of the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. Malcolm Hill led the Illini with 22 points while the team shot 50 percent from the field. The leagues are now split after eight games as Wisconsin and Penn State picked up wins for the B1G last night while ACC victories went to Duke, Notre Dame and Pitt.
Bradley men beat Eastern Illinois 87-83 in overtime, Southern Illinois nipped Murray State 89-85 in OT and Wichita State pounded Southern Nazarene 87-57.
Illinois State men’s basketball continues its homestand tonight with an early 6 p.m. tip at Redbird Arena against IUPUI.
Illinois Wesleyan women host Rose-Hulman tonight.
In high school girls basketball, Bloomington pounded Metamora 55-33, U-High clobbered Washington 46-31 and Pekin beat Normal West 58-51.

Illinois State senior linebacker B.J. Bello and sophomore receiver Spencer Schnell have been named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer Team.
The Cubs have signed outfielder Jon Jay to an $8 million, one-year contract. The former Cardinal batted .291 with 26 RBIs in 90 games with the Padres this year.
