The Pontiac Public Library is giving folks a chance to reduce or eliminate their accrued late fees by donating items that will be given to area food pantries.

Library Director Kristin Holzhauer explains.

“If you have late fees for items that have not been returned on time, you can come in and donate a non perishable food item, a personal hygiene item or a baby item, like diapers or formula, and at the end of the season, we will donate them to local food pantries. We’ll split them evenly so we hit up multiple sources, and that will give back to families in need this time of year,” Holzhauer said.
