The Pontiac Public Library is holding a gingerbread house-making contest for people of all ages from 11 to 1 on Saturday.
Library Director Kristen Holzhauer explained how the contest works, adding cinnamon graham crackers are being used in lieu of gingerbread, so to make house construction easier.
“You can come into the library and we will provide you with the cinnamon graham crackers, assorted candy, a nice little decorated tray for you to put your decorated house on, and of course, everything you need to decorate will be provided. We’ll take pictures of those, then that will be a contest. This is open to kids and adults. If you have a real creative bone in your body and you want to decorate a really cute gingerbread house, we want to see it. You’ll be entered into the contest and there will be prizes given out,” Holzhauer said.
