The mystery of Alex Bell is close to being solved, with help from the community.
The Bell letters were discovered at the Livingston County War Museum – Dal Estes Education Center and once they were deciphered and sent to Australia, the ball started rolling in solving the mystery.
Museum Education Director David Estes has more after a Skype call with individuals from Ballarat, Australia.
“We Skyped with the discoverers of this letter, who took the information back to Australia and found a second cousin and today, we were able to meet with the people who were at our museum who found him and to Jim Bell. They had the letters we sent right behind them in the Skype so we could see them. We’d like to find out about the eyewitness account to Alex Bell’s killing by the Japanese (during World War II) and they are going to help us, over there, try to find that,” Estes said.
Estes will be a guest on an upcoming Community Forum where he will detail this entire search.
