With some snow and ice for this winter season under our belts in Livingston County, travel on snowy roads doesn’t always have to be perilous.
County Engineer Clay Metcalf gives tips for drivers on snowy days.
“Advice to the public is the same I’ve given my kids when they started driving: Allow more time to get places, realize where you are as far as the level of service being provided, watch out for drifting snow and black ice, and if you are running late, take it slow and cautious, as getting to your destination safely is the most important thing,” Metcalf said.
Metcalf was a guest on a recent community forum, where he explains how and when roads are cleared during winter weather. That podcast is available at wjez.com
