We’ve all been told to drive carefully, but what can we do in a case of getting stranded or having car trouble?
Pontiac Police Chief Jim Woolford said something as simple as packing a bag could help in that case.
“We call it a ‘go bag’ at the police department. In essence, it’s just an emergency kit. Make sure you have a blanket, a flashlight or items in your car that can help keep you alive until help can get there, especially if slide off into a ditch or your car just stops running. When it’s freezing cold out, you won’t be able to run your engine to warm up the car, so you should have gloves or blankets in your car so you can snuggle up in and wait, especially if it’s so windy, you don’t want to be walking around,” Woolford said.
