Dwight girls overcame a five-point deficit going into the fourth quarter with an 18-point final period in a 54-49 win over Seneca. The Trojans are at Gardner-South Wilmington on Thursday.
The Illinois women lost at Central Michigan 82-51. The Illini men are preparing for tomorrow night’s Braggin’ Rights game against Missouri in St. Louis. Tip is at 6 with pre-game Wednesday night at 5 on 98.9 WJEZ.
The Illinois State women return to action after a week-long layoff for finals as the redbirds visit Western Illinois.
For the second time in three weeks, Illinois State senior point guard Paris Lee is the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week. Lee led the Redbirds by scoring a career-high 24 points in ISU’s 81-72 win over Saint Joseph’s Sunday.
The Carolina Panthers won the Monday Night Football game over the Washington Redskins 26-15 behind 300 passing yards and two touchdowns from Cam Newton.
The Bulls snapped a three-game losing streak with a 113-82 win over the Piston. Jimmy Butler led the Bulls again with 19 points.
The Edmonton Oilers beat the Blues 3-2 in overtime. The Blues are in Dallas tonight while the Blackhawks host Ottawa.
Tulsa routed Central Michigan 55-10 in the Miami Beach Bowl.
