A group of women, known as Women Empowered Livingston County, or WE Live, are working together to both address women’s issues in the county, as well as philanthropic activities for women’s programs at OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center.

Member Joanne Mullen was a guest on a recent Community Forum and described some of the work they have done so far.

“We original were asked to raise funds for the Women’s Suite at St. James. Privacy and comfort are an issue with patients. Right now, the suite is in its final stages where it has a larger dressing area, a restroom within the suite and definitely more privacy for diagnostic procedures and along with it, and along with it, a larger room for bone density screenings and also new furnishing. There was a real need for improving the Women’s Suite, so we decided that would be our first main project,” Mullen said.
