After a little more than a month in office, Livingston County State’s Attorney Randy Yedinak is working to help start a specialized drug court in Livingston County.

Yedinak explained that many departments are on board to begin, and he feels it will be implemented very soon.

“That’s something that myself, the judiciary, probation, law enforcement – we’re all working together to get this up and running because I think it’s something this county really needs. It’s one of these programs where we take those that are the most highly addicted individuals to the controlled substances and bring them into a very intensive program, instead of warehousing them in our prison system or county jail. Spending less money but coming up with a more intense way to kick the habit and get to the root of the problem that is causing them to break the law,” Yedinak said.

Yedinak was a guest on a recent Community Forum, and a podcast of that is available here.
