The Livingston County Special Services Unit spring preschool screenings have been scheduled throughout the county through the beginning of March.

Preschool Screening Coordinator Kim Cox explains why it’s important to screen your children.

“All children should be screened at least once during the 0 to 2 ½ year and between 2 ½ and 5, just to make sure they’re on track, because the earlier we find (if there’s something to be found) the earlier we find it, the better off the children are, because they can get help as soon as they can,” Cox said.

January screenings are scheduled for the 13th for Saunemin, the 19 and 20th for Flanagan, Cornell and Graymont and the 26 and 27 for Prairie Central West – Chenoa. Call the respective school for an appointment and for all other questions or information on upcoming screenings, contact the LCSSU at 844-7115.
