U-High girls’ basketball season is over after falling in the Class 3A Sectional championship game in Bartonville to Morton 58-42.
Illinois State softball lost at Western Kentucky 8-2. The Redbirds play twice today in Bowling Green, Kentucky, against Wright State at 9 a.m. and Austin Peay at 1:30 p.m.

Also in 2A, Olympia meets the host Farmers in Farmington and GCMS takes on PBL in Gibson City. In Class 1A, Heyworth faces Decatur Lutheran at LeRoy and Ridgeview takes on host Mount Pulaski.
Illinois Wesleyan women collide with the Bluejays of Elmhurst in the first semifinal of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament at 5 o’clock tonight at Wheaton.
Illinois State women’s basketball begins a three-game road trip to end the regular season with a 6 o’clock tip at Southern Illinois.
The Illinois State men finish the regular season Saturday afternoon at Northern Iowa with a 1 o’clock tip. Illinois returns to action Sunday evening at Nebraska.

Bloomington Thunder hockey begins a three-game weekend in Iowa tonight with a 7 o’clock face-off in Waterloo. The Thunder head to Des Moines Saturday and Sunday.
