The CornBelters continue their road trip after Monday off with a trip to Traverse City, Michigan to start a three-game series at Wuerfel Park. The Belters come home for three against Windy City beginning Friday.

 

The Cubs edged the Braves 4-3 at SunTrust Park as Jon Lester rebounded with seven innings of three-hit baseball with just one run. Anthony Rizzo hit his 23rd homer. The series resumes in Atlanta tonight with John Lackey returning from the disabled list on the mound for the Cubs while the Braves counter with Sean Newcomb.

 

The White Sox took Monday off as they host the Dodgers tonight. Clayton Kershaw starts for L.A. against Sox right-hander Miguel Gonzalez.

 

The Cardinals doubled up the Mets 6-3 on Monday night at Citi Field. All six Cardinals runs crossed the plate in the sixth inning on a two-run homer by Paul DeJong, an RBI double from Adam Wainwright and a three-run homer by Tommy Pham. DeJong continued his hot streak against the Mets after going 9-for-12 with three homers in their last three-game meeting. The series continues tonight in New York with Michael Wacha on the hill for the Cards against the Mets’ Rafael Montero.
