Prairie Lands Foundation in Fairbury is holding a special evening event beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday.

“Night of the Living Forest” will be a program exploring the insects and other creatures of Illinois forests, namely Fugate Woods. Authors Michael Jeffords and Susan Post will give a program on creatures of the night which will be followed by a black lighting to attract the insects for viewing.

The evening starts at Dominy Memorial Library at 7 p.m. and moves to the woods when the skies get dark. Mayflies, moths, wolf spiders and caterpillars are expected to appear that evening.
