The Pontiac Kiwanis met Wednesday for lunch and the guest speaker for the day was Andrew Offermann, manager of rehabilitation services at OSF Saint James – John W. Albrecht Medical Center.
Offermann said today’s rehab services are very different from the ones offered in the past, even as recent as when Saint James built its new hospital on Route 116.
“All different kinds of rehab we would offer at the hospital would be physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, developmental therapy, audiology services, athletic training services and all the diagnoses and things that would go along with those. Any musculoskeletal thing that we need – feeding program for speech therapists – it’s quite expansive,” Offermann said.
