Last week, lawmakers made what has been called groundbreaking movement on historic education funding reform, after many months of uncertainty.
State Representative Tom Bennett describes what happened with SB 1947.
“Our hope is that this new state education funding system will be a model for other states to follow. It’s an evidence-based model that will help school districts build capacity in their schools and direct resources to our children who need them the most,” Bennett said.
Bennett also reached out to constituents who would like to keep weekly tabs on things that are happening in the state capitol.
“I do have a newsletter that folks can access. It’s www.repbennett.com. If folks would like, they can go to that website and sign up for my email newsletter we send out on Fridays,” Bennett said.
