The Detroit Lions are 2-0 after Matthew Stafford threw two touchdowns in a 24-10 victory over the New York Giants.

 

Bears coach John Fox says he’s sticking with quarterback Mike Glennon despite the 0-2 start. There have been calls for rookie Mitch Trubisky to see playing time. The Bears visit Pittsburgh on Sunday.

 

The St. Louis Cardinals return from their final off day of the season to start a three-game series in Cincinnati tonight. The Cardinals need a late season charge as they trail the first place Cubs by six games in the National League Central and the Colorado Rockies by 4.5 games in the NL wildcard race.  The Chicago Cubs open a series at Tampa Bay tonight. The White Sox visit Houston tonight.

 

Five football players from Wheaton College face felony charges for  a hazing incident last year. The Chicago Tribune reports the players allegedly took a freshman teammate from campus with a pillowcase over his head, tied him up with duct tape, then left him beaten and half-naked in a field. They have been charged with aggravated battery, mob action and unlawful restraint.
