The Pontiac Parks and Recreation Department continues to make improvements on many of the city’s parks.
Director Taylor Baxter gave some examples of what’s happening around town.
“Over at Kiwanis-Humiston Park, we were doing the tennis court and pickle ball court, getting resurfaced – all that is officially done. Over at Westview Park on the west side of town, we have a flat surface of concrete and actually have (the equipment to build) basketball courts ordered, and those should be in this week. The splash pad over at the Duck Park – it’s going really well. I’ve talked to a couple of the guys over there working on the splash pad construction. No complaints so far. They’re hopefully going to be done with construction by Novermber-ish and they’re going to pick back up in the spring and it should be ready for next summer,” Baxter said.
