The seventh annual Sammy Sartoris T21 Friendship Walk and Fun Run is happening around the downtown square in Pontiac Saturday, with registration beginning at 11 a.m.

Mary Ann Sartoris talked about the event’s namesake, her son , Sammy.

“Sammy was born in ’93 and he was just everywhere in Pontiac and everybody’s friend. He served Mass at St. Mary’s and he golfed out at the Elks and just was known to everyone and everybody just loved Sam and his big thing was friendship and that’s why his walk is named the Friendship Foundation Walk,” Sartoris said.

This year, there will be buddy teams once again, as well as children’s games, music and a raffle. People can pre-register at Once n Again and Pontiac City Hall.
