The Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce held its monthly Issues and Eggs, inviting attendees to hear about the future of Illinois and federal healthcare.
Aaron Winters, executive director of the Illinois Chamber’s Healthcare Council, gave an overview of his speech from Tuesday morning.
“I think that we’re in a challenging position for the State, both from a Federal perspective and a State perspective. There’s obviously problems that are arising with the Affordable Care Act and the healthcare exchanges and what that means for the long term ability for folks to use those and be cost effective. And we have significant budget pressures in the State of Illinois, particularly on Medicaid that are really driving massive months of spending. One of the things that the Chamber is looking at is ways we can provide better value and lower cost services and insuring that we’re enhancing affordable, low-cost options for healthcare for job creators,” Winters said.
