An emergency drill is planned for 8 to 11 this morning, at the Caterpillar facility in Pontiac.

This drill is described to be an active shooter drill to further train first responder organizations, including Caterpillar, Pontiac Police and Fire, Duffy Ambulance, Minonk EMS, Saint James Hospital and the Vermillion Valley Regional Emergency Telephone Systems Board.

Livingston County Emergency Manager Chuck Schoop said this notification was sent in case individual organizations are contacted about the activity going on around Caterpillar during that time and they wanted to assure people there is no reason for concern, as this is just a drill.
