Heartland sees drop in continuing education enrollment

Heartland Community College is seeing steady numbers when it comes to its enrollment in satellite communities.

The Normal-based college also has campuses in Lincoln and Pontiac. Enrollment for this fiscal year should look similar to last year at Heartland’s Pontiac Center, averaging around 650 students. But the center’s Continuing Education numbers are down nearly 16 percent. Officials say that’s partly because Pontiac lost its Continuing Education coordinator.

After some restructuring, the center will now have someone on site weekly to help with enrollment.
