More than a year after signing and seven weeks of building updates, the Chevy-Buick-GM-Cadillac dealer in Pontiac has six weeks under its belt, and looks ahead to plenty more in the future.

Driscoll Motors owner Pam Schahrer said after she knew they would be adding to the original dealership, she depended on employees, friends and family to make it happen and made sure to enlist the business of local contractors to improve on what they already had. Schahrer said it was a worthwhile undertaking that, with work, was more than worth it.

“It was really overwhelming. It really was. I had always thought I wanted all four franchises and always dreamt about it, and when it came to being, it’s kind of like you want to knock your head and say ‘oh my.’ But I had such great support that we just took off and went – employees, family, the community. We’re excited and we still have bugs to work out. We’ll all admit that to you, but it’s rolling. We’re rocking. We’re nothing without great people behind you. I’m so fortunate to have great people,” Schahrer said.

The new dealership is located at 601 S. Newport Road in Pontiac.
