The five democratic candidates for the 16th district congressional seat, currently held by Republican Adam Kinzinger, will be appearing October 27th for a “Get to know the Candidates” night.

Sara Dady, Murri Briel, Neill Mohammad, Chris Minelli and Nathan Arroyave will be at the Pontiac Township High School auditorium for about two hours, beginning at 7 p.m. for a non-debate forum. Jack Sinnott, member of the Livingston County Democrats, said all five have been given a set of four questions to discuss during the event, to give voters and idea of their views.

“Mr. Kinzinger ran unopposed last time, and I think the fact that we have five candidates showing up that are willing to throw their hat in the ring to run this time is important. It shows that the grassroots organizations of the Democratic party, even in Central Illinois, are coming out and want to try to be strong. So, I am really pleased that we were able to get all five candidates here to talk at this candidates forum. It’s a chance for people interested in who these candidates are to hear their views on a number of the issues and hear them first hand instead of second hand. I don’t believe that all five have been in one spot at the same time yet this year, and it may not occur, so this is kind of special for us,” Sinnott said.

This event is free and all voters in the 16th congressional district are welcome to attend. PTHS is located at 1100 East Indiana Avenue.
