Pontiac Fire responded to a two-story home on the 400 block of West Henry Street Sunday morning after reports of a blaze.

Pontiac Fire Chief Scott Runyon said the fire started on the first floor, but burned through the floor to the basement and spread throughout the house. The home was under renovations and was basically empty. It was believed to have been started from improper disposal of staining rags on the first floor that may have spontaneously ignited.

There were no injuries reported. The home had extensive damage, including heat, smoke and burn damage.

Assisting Pontiac Fire were departments from Cullom, Fairbury, Odell and Chenoa, along with Duffy Ambulance.
