Listeners needed to ‘stock the need closet’

By Cynthia Grau/WJEZ News

This is the second week that Radio Pontiac and the Bank of Pontiac have been teaming up to “Stock the Need Closet” benefitting the Children’s Advocacy Center.

Items can be dropped off at the station at 315 N. Mill Street, including diapers, pillows and pillowcases, hygiene items, and bath towels, wash cloths, socks, winter gloves and scarves.

Our very own Cat has more.

“We are so excited here at the radio station to be able to coordinate businesses in the community to give. We’ve talked about this a million times and I said 2017 was going to be the year of giving and I really feel we’ve done a lot. This is really going to end the year on a high note- collecting these items for the foster kids during the holiday season. We all know sometimes the holidays can be sad or happy, it all depends. So, my personal goal, and those of us here at the station, are to be able to offer these kids something – basic needs things, to make them feel good, and my thing is to make them feel normal,” Cat said.

Monetary donations are also accepted and checks need to be made out to the Children’s Advocacy Center. For more information, visit our Facebook page.
