Forrest Fireflies collecting donations for local food pantry

The Forrest Fireflies 4-H Club is on a mission to fill the Forrest Food Pantry before November 27, and they’re looking for your help.

Leader Mary Vaughan said this is part of the “Mission Possible” challenge from the Fall Leaders Meeting at the University of Illinois Extension office.

“There’s just such a need for food and stuff at the food pantry in Forrest. It’s right there at the library, which is right in the middle of town and it’s easy to get to. The library is open every day and Saturday morning. If you can’t get to the library with it, give me a call and we’ll be glad to come pick it up from you,” Vaughan said.

The library is open from 10 to 5 Monday through Friday and 9 to noon on Saturdays and is located at 301 S. James Street.
