Kiwanis learns about Head Start

By Cynthia Grau/WJEZ News

The Pontiac Kiwanis met Wednesday for lunch and learned about Heartland Head Start in Pontiac and how it’s grown in the past few years.

Family Resource Advocate Judy Gerber talks about the classes they have and there are currently openings available.

“Heartland Head Start serves children three to five in half-day sessions, morning and afternoon, through the school year for families that are income eligible to our program. We are a federally funded program. We also serve infants six weeks to three, as well, and that’s a five hour program,” Gerber said.
