The student-run “Pontiac Month of Giving,” led primarily by Pontiac Township High School is heading into its third week November 20 and they are still accepting items.
Superintendent Jon Kilgore said this program has spread throughout the area, even garnering attention from television media.
“Kevin Kuska, who has been on here with Mr. Bohm, who continues to talk about the Month of Giving that has started up and we appreciate all the promotion that has taken place locally on that. A news station is coming in to do a TV spot on that, as well, which is great, so it’s really taking off. This week is hygiene products. So if you have hygiene products that are new to be donated, we will get those to students and families in need,” Kilgore said.
The items they are looking for next week are monetary donations or items from prior weeks, which includes canned or boxed good and the hygiene items. Those can be dropped off at the high school at 1100 E. Indiana Avenue in Pontiac.
