The director at Fairbury American Legion Speedway, Matt Curl, has been named director of the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series though Curl will remain an advisor for the Fairbury Speedway. The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series are two major events on the 2018 calendar and the complete schedule is expected to be released next month.

 

Illinois State looks for its first win of the basketball season this morning as the redbirds face off against South Carolina in the first round of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off at Myrtle Beach.

 

Kristen Gillespie picked up her first win as Illinois State women’s basketball coach. The Redbirds bested Northern Kentucky, 49-37, at Redbird Arena. The Redbirds were led by Megan Talbot who chalked up 17 points and eight rebounds for the Redbirds. The Redbirds will take on George Mason University next Wednesday at 11 a.m.

 

Illinois Wesleyan opened the season with a 90-68 win over Fontbonne at Shirk Center.

 

The Central Illinois Flying Aces skate tonight at Green Bay.
