Historic education funding that happened back in the early fall seems to be having a positive impact with educators across the state.
Regional Superintendent of Schools Mark Jontry talked about the feeling that he got in speaking with other administration at a recent school board conference in Chicago.
“Everybody is certainly upbeat with the fact that we’ve got, I think, a funding model that just makes more sense than what we were doing previously. In addition to that, the passage of a budget provides some certainty to that. Going forward, the key issue to continuing to having that positive momentum is going to be able to adequately fund that formula on a year-to-year basis, and certainly that is going to be the challenge of the general assembly,” Jontry said.
