Illinois State men’s basketball couldn’t overcome a slow start and fell at Brigham Young 80-68. The Redbirds will play at home this Saturday at 3 p.m. against the Murray State Racers.

Illinois Wesleyan edged Wheaton 82-79 on Jaylen Beasley’s three-point shot with 1.5 seconds remaining. The Titans visit North Central on Saturday.

Also in the Big Ten, Temple beat Wisconsin 59-55. In other Missouri Valley Conference men’s basketball, Loyola upset Number 5 Florida 65-59. North Texas beat Indiana State in overtime, Saint Louis edged Southern Illinois and South Dakota pounded Drake.

In women’s basketball, Illinois Wesleyan beat Wheaton 88-81 while shooting 55 percent from the field.

Illinois State women’s basketball takes a short road trip with a visit to Milwaukee tonight.

The Bulls lost at Indiana 98-96.

The Capitals buried the Blackhawks 6-2. The Blues host the Dallas Stars tonight.
