What do people do when one fundraiser for those in need is hugely successful? They plan another one to benefit more people.

That’s what’s happening at Unity Cosmetology College on Ladd Street in Pontiac. We reported yesterday they were holding a bake sale and collecting Toys for Tots throughout the day, and they’ve extended the collection times through 3 today.

Organizer Danielle Ford said Tuesday went well and based off of how generous the community was for their hurricane fundraiser a few months ago, she knows this one will be just as good.

“We just did a fundraiser about a month and a half ago as a hurricane relief, so I decided why don’t we just do one for children who don’t have toys this year? Last time, we raised $900 so we’re hoping to raise around $500 for the toys. So, come out and see us,” Ford said

Unity is located at 601 N. Ladd Street in Pontiac.
