The Fighting Illini couldn’t overcome an ice cold start, missing 18 of their first 19 shots, as they fall to Minnesota, 77-67. Illinois drops to 0-3 in the Big Ten, 10-6 overall. The Illini host Michigan on Saturday.

Illinois State’s four-game win streak was snapped by an upstart Drake team that’s playing much better than its projected last in the Missouri Valley preseason rankings. The Bulldogs pulled away to an 87-62 win at Knapp Center, handing ISU its first league loss. The 8-7 Redbirds host Missouri State on Sunday.

Illinois Wesleyan rolled to an upset win over second-ranked Augustana 72-53 at Shirk Center..

The Illinois Wesleyan women crushed Augie for their ninth straight win 102-57 at Rock Island.

The Bulls dropped their third straight, 124-115, to Toronto. 

32-year old rookie Jeff Glass made 23 saves to lead the Blackhawks to a 5-2 victory over the New York Rangers. The win helps the Hawks climb out of the basement in the NHL’s Central Division.

The Chicago Bears say they have interviewed defensive coordinator Vic Fangio for their head coaching job. Fangio is the first candidate to interview for the job since John Fox was fired on Monday.
