El Paso woman, 29, dies in Interstate 39 crash

An El Paso woman was killed on Monday in a crash between a car and semi tractor-trailer on Interstate 39 in Hudson.

McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis said the crash happened in the southbound lanes of the interstate on Monday morning but few details have been given. Davis said her office was called to the Advocate BroMenn Medical Center emergency room.

Twenty-nine-year-old Kacee Vassallo was pronounced dead at 11:15 a.m. Davis said Vassallo died of multiple injuries. Davis said Vassallo was a passenger in the vehicle, while the driver was treated at a local hospital.

Davis said the McLean County Coroner’s Office and Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.
