Livingston County has dealt with plenty of snow and ice this winter, but what does the City of Pontiac do to clear roads and make it safe for people to travel?
Street Superintendent Chris Brock said his department has a plan for those types of days that is available for viewing at pontiac.org.
“Actually what we have, is I’ve prepared a document that’s on the city website at pontiac.org. It’s a complete snow policy. And that will show you where we send our trucks when we start plowing, what happens after the storm, what to do if by accident we wipe out your mailbox. There’s a whole list of things people can use as a reference, because we do get calls, ‘Why aren’t you plowing our street?’ Well, here it’s all laid out in that document – what we do and when we do it,” Brock said.
Brock was a guest on a recent Community Forum, where he talks more about winter weather.
