The Pontiac Kiwanis met Wednesday and heard about changes and the new outlook for the Boys and Girls Club of Livingston County.
Interim Director Jody Martin explained that, beginning in January, the Prairie Central and Livingston County Clubs combined and are called the Boys and Girls Club of Livingston County, and they have plans for all of their membership.
“The main thing is we’re going to implement programs with impact. We’ve already started the teen programming, so they have a lock-in this Friday and they’re so excited about all the activities they’re going to do. It’s only going to be until 11 p.m., not all night. So, we’ll have teens and we’re going to increase our teen programs – the mentoring and being able to mentor one-on-one, ten kids, twenty kids, more mentors we can get. So, we want to increase the number of teens we’re serving and also our daily programs,” Martin said.
