GOP Candidate forum happening Friday

The Livingston County Republicans are hosting the GOP Candidate Forum Friday from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Pontiac Township High School auditorium.

Committee member Carolyn Gerwin explains why they chose to have a forum.

“Apparently, it’s been years since the GOP has sponsored a primary candidate forum because they felt that maybe it was divisive. We had a big discussion about it and decided that this is a service to the public because they have choice coming up. Primaries are extremely important. That really shows you the direction of your party. It shows what the voters really care about. It shows whether voters are happy with the status quo, how the incumbents are doing or whether they want something different,” Gerwin said.

Confirmed candidates attending Friday include Jim Marter, Rich Morthland, Gary Grasso, and Dan Brady.

This event is free and open to the public. Our very own Todd Wineburner will moderate the forum.
