The City of Pontiac has had three informational meetings concerning its new community program and so far, they have garnered positive results.
Pontiac Parks and Rec Director Taylor Baxter was a guest at Wednesday’s Pontiac Kiwanis Club meeting where he talked about the first few meetings for the Community Heart and Soul program.
“That’s the consistent message we’ve had. At every meeting we’ve had, we’ve had positive feedback and that’s what we want. We want positive change for the City and we’ve been very receptive to their questions and answers, but the majority of it has been positive. It’s been very cool to see everyone come together and really join together as, not only as a City and residents, but also coming together as one cohesive unit. It’s been very very cool to see,” Baxter said.
Community Heart and Soul is a resident driven community development model that relies on community input to revise its twenty-year-old comprehensive plan. For information about upcoming meetings, visit pontiac.org.
