Allocation applications and upcoming events for the United Way

The United Way of Livingston County is now boasting more than half its goal of $201,000 and have plenty of events in the works for the next few months.

Executive Director Deb Howard gave a list successful events of years past that are returning again in 2018.

“Last year we did a martini tasting sponsored by SOCU and it went over really big. We had a great time. There were more people than we had places for. So that was pretty exciting and we’re in the planning stages of that this year. We’re also in the planning stages of our Celebration, which I believe will be May 3, and that’s when we celebrate making our goal and we have every intention of making our goal by May 3, so if you have not made your donation to the United Way, we are still taking donations and we are looking for employee campaigns in the county,” Howard said.

The United Way of Livingston County is also taking applications for allocations.

Howard said it’s as easy as calling the office for an application.

“It is allocation time, so if you’re a 501c3 and you fit in the United Way guidelines and you’d like to receive funds from the United Way, you need to give us a buzz at 844-5131 and we’ll get an allocation packet to you. You can fill it out and we’ll see if we can get some funds to you,” Howard said.
