Illinois State women’s basketball concluded the home season with a decisive 70-44 win over Evansville on the annual Play 4 Kay day.

 

In the Big Ten men’s schedule, Number 22 Michigan knocked off Number 8 Ohio State 74-62 and Number 6 Purdue edged Penn State 76-73. Missouri Valley Conference men’s hoops included Loyola defeating Evansville 76-66 to clinch a share of the league title for the Ramblers, and Drake beat Missouri State 67-63.

 

On the diamonds, Illinois State softball defeated North Dakota 6-2 to finish 3-2 in the Littlewood Classic in Tempe, Arizona.

 

Illinois baseball lost 2-0 to Austin Peay in St. Louis.

 

Illinois State baseball swept a doubleheader at Arkansas State 18-3 and 11-4.

 

The Central Illinois Flying Aces lost 5-2 to the Green Bay Gamblers at Grossinger Motors Arena on Sunday.

 

Youth prevailed at the Daytona 500 as Austin Dillon took the checkered flag. Rookie Bubba Wallace finished second.

 

Team LeBron defeated Team Steph 148-145 in the NBA All-Star Game.

 

In the Winter Olympics in South Korea, Team USA moves into the gold medal game on Wednesday in women’s hockey with a 5-0 victory over Finland. An Olympic update follows the news.
