In high school basketball as heard here on WJEZ, Pontiac cruised to a victory over Coal City 63-44. Dwight was ousted by top-seed and host St. Anne in a Class 1A Regional semifinal 60-24.
In the Class 2A Regional at El Paso, host El Paso-Gridley rallied to score the game’s final seven points to top number 2 seed Westmont 50-47. In the other semifinal, Fieldcrest topped Chicago Christian 64-61, sending the Knights and Titans into Friday’s regional final.

The Titan men lost to North Central 83-74 at Shirk Center, granting the top-seed to Augustana. Wesleyan will play North Central in the semifinals Friday in Rock Island.
The Titan women clinched an outright CCIW title with an 82-61 win over Elmhurst. IWU will host the women’s tournament this weekend. The Titans play Elmhurst again in the semifinals on Friday night in the semifinals.
