The Pontiac Township High School baseball program will be playing their first game March 12, but on the 10th, they will host the “State of the Game Breakfast” with special guest speaker Rocky Vonachen.
Head coach Mike Stoecklin describes how the breakfast will go.
“All the high school players will be invited and we’re going to have Rocky meet with the boys prior to the event, starting at 9. I want him to do a little meet and greet with the players and he’s going to talk to them about what he thinks it takes for high school players to maybe play at the next level, whether it be college or professionally,” Stoecklin said.
Stoecklin has an idea on how the outcome of this morning will impact his team.
“With our community outreach, I want that to be a focus of some of the things we try do to – not just in the offseason, but during the season as well. That’s something I’m going to try to preach to our high school players as they come into the program. Part of our success and continued success hinges in part of how these other programs develop and continue and strength over the years. By doing that, I think we can get the ball rolling where the communication gap can be shrunk over the years and we can assist each other in making all of our programs stronger,” Stoecklin said.
This program is open to the public. Team members are selling tickets for $25 each. This event is taking place at 9 a.m. at Baby Bulls Fine Dining in Pontiac.
