Pontiac’s Heartland Community College campus has always offered several kinds of classes to students, but is now expanding to new ones that they’ve never had before.
Program Coordinator Kim Klingbeil said there is a new opportunity for students interested in dental assistant training beginning Monday, but those new classes don’t end there.
“We have a wide range of career training programs, and traditionally we’ve run them in Bloomington Normal. And those folks in Livingston or our district in Logan County and were coming to us. This is the first time we’re taking a program up north that will exclusively be up north and I’m hoping that it is the first of many programs we will run – phlebotomist, vet tech, possibly even welding or a truck driving training program. We want to bring them directly to Livingston County without the travel,” Klingbeil said/
