The Illinois General Primary Election ended last night and the party nominations for the seats up for grabs at the state level are as follows:
Governor Bruce Rauner and Lt. Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti declared victory over challenger Jeanne Ives and Rich Morthland for the Republican nomination, while the Democrats nominated JB Pritzker and Juliana Stratton.
Unopposed races included Republican Secretary of State Candidate Jason Helland and Democrat incumbent Jesse White. For Comptroller, the Republican nomination went to Darlene Senger while Democrat Incumbent Susana Mendoza picked up her party’s nomination. Democrat incumbent Michael Frerichs won the nomination for Treasurer with Republican Jim Dodge representing his party during the General Election in November.
Incumbent Adam Kinzinger clenched the Republican nomination for the 16th Congressional District against challenger James Marter, while Democrat Sara Dady will represent Democrats for that in November’s election.
Republican Incumbent Dan Brady defeated David Paul Blumenshine in the race for the 105th Illinois State Representative District, while Democrat Benjamin Webb ran unopposed for this party.
Unopposed races included Republicans Sue Rezin for the 38th Legislative District and Jason Barickman for the 53rd Legislative District. Republicans Jerry Lee Long for the 76th State Representative District and Tom Bennett for the 106th District rounded out the pack.
Republican Incumbent Mark Jontry ran unopposed for the seat of Regional Superintendent of Schools for Livingston, McLean, Logan and DeWitt Counties.
For Livingston County Board, the Republican Party will be represented in District 1 by Kathy Arbogast, James Carley, William Mays and James Blackard with Marty Fannin falling short. District 1 unexpired two year term went to Patrick Killian. District Two will be represented by Robert Weller, Steven Lovell, Gerald Earing, and Bill Wilkey. Representing District 3 is John Vitzthum, Linda Ambrose, Mark Runyon and John Yoder with Mark Kirkton falling short.
