The We’re Here group of Livingston County has organized a local branch of the “March for our Lives” at the Livingston County Courthouse Square in Pontiac from 11 to 1 Saturday.

Group Member Murray McLean explained why the group organized this march.

“A lot of what we do has been to march in favor of equality, equal pay for women and making sure that women’s reproductive rights are not compromised, but as everybody is probably aware, the subject of gun control has been heavily featured in the news cycle over the last month, particularly, with the Stoneman Douglas mass shooting and obviously, the idea with coincidentally, the 20th anniversary of the Columbine school massacre coming up on April 20th, that we need to push for common sense gun regulations,” McLean said.

People who join in the march are welcome to bring signs.
