A three vehicle collision on Route 47 south of Saunemin left one man dead.

According to a press release from Livingston County Corner Danny Watson, Jeffrey Stehle of Forrest was trapped in his car and had to be extricated. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Assisting at the scene were Forrest and Saunemin Fire Departments, SELCAS ambulance, Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and Illinois State Police Reconstruction Unit. This accident remains under investigation.
