The Final Four matchups are set in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. The unlikely Cinderella story of Loyola continues, as the #11 seed earned a ticket to the national semifinals where they’ll play No. 3 seeded Michigan. On the other side of the bracket, it’ll be No. 1 Villanova trying to win their second national title in the last three years, but they’ll have to get past top-seeded Kansas first. Fans from across the country will head to San Antonio, Tex. later this week for the final three games of what has been an historic tournament.

 

In women’s hoops, Mississippi State beat UCLA to clinch a return trip to the Final Four. Louisville beat Oregon State to advance to the Final Four in Columbus, Ohio.

 

Former Illinois State basketball player Zeke Upshaw was rushed to the hospital on Saturday after he collapsed on the court during an NBA G League game. Upshaw is in his second season with the Grand Rapids Drive. He remains hospitalized in critical condition on Sunday night. Upshaw played at ISU from 2010 to 2013.

 

Illinois State softball got a one hitter from freshman Morgan Day in a 6-0 win at Southern Illinois. The Salukis won the second of the doubleheader, 6-3.

 

Bubba Watson won his second World Golf Championships title on Sunday at Austin, Tex.

 

NASCASR’s event at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia was snowed out on Sunday. It’s been reset for Monday.

 

Baseball, the St. Louis Cardinals have played starting pitcher Adam Wainrwright on the disabled list with an injured hamstring.
