Fairbury’s acting postmaster is now their Postmaster.

Kayla Swallows began her career with the Fairbury Post Office in October 2014 as a part time clerk and worked her way up into a career spot before being named officer in charge. She talked about what excites her most about this new step in her career.

“Honestly, I think it’s just learning new things about the post office or how to do things. I love to learn anything and everything. I think knowledge is power. I’m just really excited to learn more about the postal service and continue to get my education here and that way I can further my career with it,” Swallows said.

She also talked about how she’s looking forward to meeting everyone her office serves.

“I’m very excited to serve the area and if I can do anything for anybody, just stop in here and talk with me or give me a call or just stop in and say hi and meet me. I graduated here in Fairbury, so I know a lot of people here, but if you don’t know me, just stop on by and say hi. I’m just really excited,” Swallows said.
