Congratulations to Pontiac High School’s Sarah Christopher for signing a National Letter of Intent to run track at Central College of Iowa. Christopher had three top-10 finishes at the Bloomington Invitational last Friday, in the 400-meter dash and the 4×400 and 4×100 relays.

The White Sox finally got to play after a game after an entire three-game series at the Twins was snowed out. The Sox bullpen gave up three runs in the seventh inning and three more in the eighth as Oakland pulled away to an 8-1 win.

A University of Illinois graduate has won the women’s wheelchair race at the Boston Marathon. Tatyana McFadden, 28, from Maryland crossed the finish line yesterday in 2 hour, 4 minutes, 39 seconds. The Russian-born McFadden won this year’s women’s wheelchair race at the Chicago Marathon.
